About Us
GPL was formed in November of 1990 and since then has grown rapidly to be a major provider of quality pathology services throughout the Western Australia community. In 2001, GPL was acquired by the Gribbles Group Limited, an Australian owned pathology company, with a core focus on delivering quality pathology services for over 40 years. Under the new ownership, GPL continues to operate as a local, WA based laboratory, but has available to it the support and expanded resources of a larger national pathology company. In September 2003 GPL merged with Specialist Histopathology and Cytology Services (Dr J. Carroll) and Cutaneous Pathology (Dr P.Heenan), providing a total quality service that excels in all disciplines of laboratory medicine.
On March 19th 2007 Mount Pathology was opened to provide 24-hour service to the Mount Hospital, as well as the CBD community.
GPL is a NATA/RCPA accredited laboratory covering all disciplines of laboratory medicine including Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology and Histopathology. GPL has a testing service available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for testing and consultation.
The laboratory is located in Fremantle and has branches north and south of the river, as well as in Rockingham, Mandurah, Pinjarra and Margaret River. Cutaneous Pathology operates from its traditional premises in Nedlands.
